Kibirkštis win Queen`s Cup, Livija Sakevičiūte is MVP

Vilnius Kibirkštis MRU beat Kaunas Aistes LSMU 66-47 and won the “Neodenta Karalienes Taure” – Lithuania`s Queen`s Cup – on Saturday, March 12, at the spa town Druskininkai.

Livija Sakevičiūte led the winners with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.

Center added nine rebounds and two assists for a efficiency rating of 21.

Sakevičiūte was named the Most Valuable Player.

Point guard Gabriele Šulske also scored 17 points.

The Sparks finished the Women`s Baltic Basketball league`s regular season with a 19-3 record.

Vilnius team finished second behind TTT Rīga and booked a direct ticket to the Final Four.

Kibirkštis posted a 19-1 record against lower ranked teams – its single loss came at the hands of TalTech Nordaid on February 16.

Gabriele Šulske averages 11.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the WBBL action.

Camille Droguet had 11,3 points, a team high 6,4 rebounds and 3,4 assists.

Livija Sakevičiūte contributed with 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Karolina Kazočiūnaite averages 9.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

Gitautas Kievinas team faces more action – the 2022 EWBL Final Four on March 19-20 at Pieštany, the 2022 Women`s Baltic Basketball league Final Four on March 26-27, at Jonava and the Lithuanian playoffs in April.
