Dmitry Fedoseev turns Rostov on Don into a title town

The first weekend of games in Group B is near. Before the teams start to play at Rostov on Don, let`s have a look at our hosts – Peresvet/Southern Federal University.

Dmitry Fedoseev continues to do an amazing job. An engineer turned into a basketball coach – Dmitry Vladimirovich eleven years (2005-2016) worked as a youth coach at “Gloria” sports school in Moscow.

Fedoseev led the Dynamo Moscow youth team to the first place in Superleague-2 (third tier of Russian basketball).

It was only a start of his rise. One year later, in the summer of 2017, he moved to Rostov on Don – the city on a high northern bank of river Don, near the Azov sea.

His new team – Rostov Don – was founded on February 16, 2006 and won its first Superleague title in 2014, led by coach Nikolay Tanaseichuk.

Fedoseev used his experience with the young players to turn the Rostov Don SFEDU into a high level team with a distinct team spirit and cohesion on the court.

Rostov Don SFEDU won four consecutive Superleague titles in four years (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) and became a force to be reckoned with.

Fedoseev got a strong support from club`s management – a group of experienced professionals.

Rostov Don president Marina Alexandrovna Borovskaia hails from Yekaterinburg and is the President of Southern Federal University.

General director Elena Shvaybovich was born in Minsk and won the Olympic gold medal in Barcelona 1992.

Sport director Tatyana Troickaya was the first head coach of Rostov Don (2006-2010) and is one of the key pieces of the club.

No surprises, the Panthers fared well in the EWBL too and won a bronze medal in their first Final Four appearance back in 2019.

Rostov Don SFEDU delivered an upset of the year and won the playoff series against the Swedish giants Lulea Basket in order to advance to the Final Four.

The next season wasn`t finished due to pandemic and the team didn`t played the following year.
